Husqvarna Racing Team’s Todd Waters continued his consistent run of results in the sixth round of the 2022 ProMX Championship at Coffs Harbour with a pair of fifth-place finishes.

Husqvarna Racing Team’s Todd Waters continued his consistent run of results in the sixth round of the 2022 ProMX Championship at Coffs Harbour with a pair of fifth-place finishes.

Waters secured fourth gate pick in an immensely close Top 10 Shootout, where he delivered a best lap of 1m42.094s to land just over a second from P1 in the challenging and muddy conditions.

During retro round of the series, the 32-year-old was engaged in the fight for the podium during the closing stages of moto one, finishing within a second of the rostrum.

In race two, the FC 450 rider again had the podium in his sights at the conclusion of the bout and ultimately ended the day sixth overall to add an important 32 points to his championship tally.

Waters is fourth in the MX1 championship and remains in the hunt as he and the Husqvarna Racing Team shifts its focus to round seven of the 2022 ProMX Championship at Queensland Moto Park on 14 August.

Todd Waters: “It was a tough one for us. I got some good starts and I was running up there, but I just really struggled to get a good feeling on the track, and I wasn’t gelling with it. Definitely made it tough on myself, made some costly mistakes where riders went by and I lost some places. Going back to the drawing board, I’ve got a bit of work to do on my settings and a lot of it is my fault in crossing between off-road and motocross - I need to get a bit closer to the off-road setting where it’s a bit softer and a bit more forgiving for hard-pack choppy tracks like this. I’m feeling confident for the sand, my bike always feels good in the sand, but heading into QMP I want to try and get a bit more confidence in those harder conditions."
