BILLY HARGY OVERCOMES ILLNESS FOR TOP-FIVE E3 SCORES ON MOUNT MISERY AORC WEEKEND

Despite recovering from a lengthy illness leading up to this weekend’s Mount Misery rounds of the 2024 Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC), Simford Group Motorsport Husqvarna E3 class rookie Billy Hargy earned consistent fourth-place results across both days in Victoria.

After an impressive showing at the opening two rounds of the seasons, the 18-year-old had been sick for the 10 days leading up to this weekend’s third and fourth rounds, leaving him with minimal bike-time on his Husqvarna Motorcycles FE 501.

Despite that challenge and low energy levels as a result, teenage revelation Hargy pushed through and battled and an increasingly brutal track littered with rocks, technical off-cambers, hill-climbs and dusty berms to the two consistent P4 placings in the E3 category.

Husqvarna Motorcycles-supported Hargy will now recover and prepare for rounds five and six of the AORC, which will be held at Edenhope, Victoria, on 18-19 May.

Billy Hargy: “That was a really tough weekend and I’m quite happy to leave with two consistent fourth-place results. I’ve been sick for 10 days and the track was super brutal. I had a big crash in the rocks yesterday and ended up with the bike on top of me, so I was quite beaten up, as well as being pretty gassed with no energy. I struggled with the off-cambers and the snotty stuff, as I haven’t really practiced that sort of riding at home. Even though I’m very tired and feeling sore, I’m happy to leave with no injuries, and will recover before Edenhope next month.”
