Raceline Husqvarna Berry Sweet Racing rider Jack Mather has locked away a strong pre-season of supercross testing, as the capable young Queenslander prepares to defend his SX3 title heading into the opening round of the 2023 Australian Supercross Championship (AUSX) this Saturday, October 7, in Adelaide.

After a standout campaign last season that saw Mather claim the development class championship in a clutch performance at the final round, the teenager enters season 2023 with the confidence of another year of racing under his belt and the added experience to match.

In taking this year’s Australian ProMX Championship down to the final moto of the season, Mather’s form and self-belief is high as he enters the more technical and intense portion of the year within the tight confines of supercross competition.

Both Mather – who will wear the number one plate in his title defence – and the Raceline Husqvarna Berry Sweet Racing team, headed up by team owner/manager Todd Waters, are excited for the gates to drop at the season-opener this weekend inside the Adelaide Entertainment Centre in South Australia.

Following Adelaide, the AUSX championship will return to Newcastle’s McDonald Jones Stadium on November 11, before wrapping up at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne on November 24.

Jack Mather: "Coming off a really solid motocross season has boosted my confidence a lot entering this year’s supercross championship. The preparation has been great leading into the opening round, and Ford [Dale] has been working me hard day in, day out, during the week. We learned a great deal last year with sealing the championship, and obviously the goal is to go out there and repeat, which I feel like I’m in a great position – both mentally and physically – to do so."

Todd Waters (Raceline Husqvarna Berry Sweet Racing Team Owner/Manager): “As a team, we’re really excited at the opportunity to defend the SX3 championship in 2023 with Jack Mather. We’ve made great progress with the bike to allow him all the comfort he needs to go out and fight for the title again, and we’ll continue to work closely together in the pursuit of earning another supercross championship this year. Raceline Performance will also be supporting Reid Taylor in the SX2 class for the three-round series, which we are looking forward to.”
