Todd Waters and the Husqvarna Racing Team concluded the 2022 ProMX Championship strongly at Coolum this afternoon, finishing second overall in MX1 at Coolum and earning third position in the final standings.

A two-day format was introduced for the eighth round, where Waters comfortably made it through to the Top 10 Shootout by posting the fourth-fastest time in Saturday’s qualifying.

An intense ‘superpole’ on Sunday morning saw the Husqvarna FC 450 rider post the sixth fastest time, just 1.163s from first gate pick.

In moto one, Waters showed immense pace to charge from fifth to briefly take the lead, ultimately finishing in the runner-up position.

The Queensland-based rider was again fast in moto two and worked his way to the front to lead the majority of the race. He was relegated to second in the closing stages, where he crossed the line to cap-off the season.

Strong, consistent finishes at the final round elevated Waters to P3 in the MX1 championship, drawing an end to a respectable season for both himself and the team.

Todd Waters: “Today was good, my bike was working really well, but I had a few problems physically with myself. I was in a position to win the motos, but didn’t execute in the races... Both Wilson [Todd] and Kyle [Webster] rode really well. But overall, P3 in the championship, we are happy with that after the last two rounds. It was good to get a result here and finish the season strong! Next up, we jump on a plane tomorrow and change our focus to ISDE (International Six Days Enduro), but I’d like to thank the Husqvarna Racing Team for making it the best they could for 2022."
